BARRATT LONDON LAUNCHES THE BARNETT APARTMENTS AT HAYES VILLAGE

Hong Kong - 25 August 2022

Barnett Apartments, the latest phase of Barratt London’s Hayes Village, featuring canal-side homes, set to attract owner-occupiers and investors

The regeneration project is located in one of London’s top regeneration areas, near the new Elizabeth Line and Heathrow Airport, making it an attractive investment opportunity

Property buyers in Hong Kong have the opportunity to purchase residences at Barnett Apartments, the latest phase of the highly-acclaimed Hayes Village development in west London.

Barnett Apartments is the latest phase of Hayes Village. The development sits on the site of the former art deco Nestlé factory designed by Wallis Gilbert and is a significant regeneration project in Hayes. The original site is iconic too, and not only because instant coffee was invented there; white chocolate was also discovered at this very site. Such is its legacy, that names such as “Milk Street” and “Nestlé Avenue” still run through the development.

The entire Hayes Village regeneration scheme has been designed by award-winning architects, DMFK. It sits along the Grand Union Canal, which means residents will have access to the beautiful, redeveloped waterfront.

The development features one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, each of which offer modern open-plan living. There are also large full-height windows and a mix of spacious private terraces and balconies to allow residents to enjoy the surrounding views.

Barnett Apartments’ residents will have access to many amenities throughout Hayes Village, including a two-acre garden with an outdoor gym that pays homage to Eugene Sandow – the former herculean strongman who once owned the Art Deco factory – a playground, 1.3-km walking trail, a new public square, and a 200-metre running track. A further residents gym, coffee shop and community centre are also planned.

"Barnett Apartments is a lovely scheme with water facing homes. Yes, it's an investment product, but at this capital value it’s a perfect owner/occupier opportunity too. It’s a bit of a gem." – Joseph Au, Senior Sales Manager, Barratt Homes. “We expect to see strong demand for residences at Barnett Apartments in Hong Kong,” he added.

Hayes Village is extremely well connected to the rest of London. Residents can easily access the new Elizabeth line from Hayes and Harlington station, which puts both Central London, Heathrow Airport, and even Canary Wharf within easy reach by public transport. Residents, for example, will be able to reach Heathrow Airport in five minutes, Bond Street in just 22 minutes, compared to one hour and 20 minutes previously, and the City of London in 27 minutes. Essentially, residents will enjoy Zone 2 travel times despite living in a Zone 5 location. This enables lower priced properties, without the travel inconveniences.

With the recent opening of the nearby Elizabeth line, property prices look set to continue to rise.

“Hayes Village is well connected, being only approximately 7 minutes' walk to the local station. Hayes and Harlington station benefits directly from the introduction of London’s new Elizabeth line. Furthermore, it’s also easy to reach Paddington and the rest of central London, as well as Heathrow airport by car,” notes Mr. Au.

Also situated near Hayes Village is Stockley Park. The 88-acre business park is home to many international companies including Apple, Canon, and Verifone. Furthermore, Segro Business Park is also due to open nearby, which will further increase the desirability of living at the new development, as well as the number of jobs brought to the area. This will benefit buyers in terms of capital appreciation, as well as rentals.

The nearby high street offers a great selection of restaurants, supermarkets, and cafes. Hayes Village will also have a trendy cafe set along the Grand Union Canal. There are also a number of attractions in Hayes, including the London Motor Museum and C & L Golf & Country Club.

“Hayes Village is one of the top regeneration areas in London. It offers that special combination of history, culture, and incredible architecture in an area of the city that’s set to deliver solid returns over the years to come,” said Mr. Au.

1, 2 and 3 Bedroom homes available in the Barnett Apartments from 3,507,834HKD (£375,000).
